Do you have Buck & Hickman’s oldest catalogue?
In 2010 Buck & Hickman are celebrating 180 years of continuous trading since our original founder, Matthew Buck, first starting selling tools in 1830.
In the second half of the 19th century Buck & Hickman became well known for their incredible product catalogues which ran to several hundred pages with illustrations for literally every product featured – all reproduced on individually type-set pages.
In our company archives we have original catalogues going back over 100 years with the oldest being the 1894 edition. However, we know that catalogues were definitely published before this date.
In our Anniversary year we want to find the oldest Buck & Hickman catalogue still in existence and are offering this fantastic prize:

This prize will go to the oldest catalogue whose existence we can physically verify by June 30th 2010. The winner will be free to choose £1,000 of tools from Buck & Hickman’s range of over 60,000 products.
In addition we will be offering runners-up prizes for the 2nd and 3rd oldest catalogues of our incredible Uniwrench and Unisocket sets – the world’s ultimate spanner and socket sets.
If you have a pre-1894 Buck & Hickman catalogue we’d love to hear from you. To find out more please e-mail us at marketing@buckandhickman.com and put ‘Historic Catalogue’ in the subject header.
